Alvin York
Alvin York
Alvin York made a name for himself when he was able to take command of his platoon and lead them to the capture of a German standpoint along with all of their machine guns and 132 prisoners of war.
Alvin York was born in 1887 and grew up in the mountains of Tennessee where he learned to shoot by hunting wild game. He was opposed to the war at first and attempted to avoid the Draft. Being a christian he would justify not fighting because he did not believe that he was allowed to kill another man. Later he decide that it would be fine for him to join the war because he would be fighting for a just reason.
